Parents, we hear you – we know that you have questions about how kids golf equipment works, what the best options are, and we are here to help!

How do I know junior clubs are the right size for my child?
Do NOT buy equipment that says an age range. Purchase clubs that fit your child’s height first and foremost! The best junior equipment is communicated for a 3-5″ swatch of height. Aren’t sure what the right size is for your child, or have clubs that you aren’t sure if they fit? Use this chart!

How many clubs does my child need?
Starting juniors do not need an entire 14 club set. Starting golfers only need 4-6 clubs – a putter, a wedge, a mid-iron (8-7-6), a hybrid, and a driver would be a perfect combination of clubs for a beginning junior player between the ages of 7-12.

Where can we find different junior golf club options to purchase?
We have great partners that would be happy to help you find the right clubs for your juniors!
All Kids Golf Clubs is a great source of new junior sets and clubs of all different types and sizes, and they provide constant updates of different manufacturers that put out those sets.
Local physical store options are Golf Roots, PGA Tour Superstores, and Dallas Golf, but they do not have as wide of an array of options as All Kids Golf Clubs.

When do I know it’s time to move from junior golf equipment to adult sized equipment?
Most adult sized equipment is based on height and strength. If you are concerned that your child needs to move to adult equipment, please speak to your coach at FTGD classes, and we can point you in the right direction either towards teen flex options, senior flex, women’s flex, or regular flex shafts.
